Cryolipolysis has many benefits over other fat removal procedures, like liposuction. It’s non-surgical, non-invasive, and requires no recovery time. The procedure freezes and kills fat cells in the part of your body that you’re having treated. Within a few weeks of treatment, your body breaks down these dead fat cells and flushes them out through your liver.

Cryolipolysis procedure

After an assessment of the dimensions and shape of the fatty bulge to be treated, an applicator of the appropriate size and curvature is chosen. The area of concern is marked to identify the site for applicator placement. A gel pad is placed to protect the skin. The applicator is applied and the bulge is vacuumed into the hollow of the applicator. The temperature inside the applicator drops, and as it does so, the area numbs. Patients sometimes experience discomfort from the vacuum’s pull on their tissue, but this resolves within minutes, once the area is numb. Patients typically watch TV, use their smart phone or read during the procedure. After the hour-long treatment, the vacuum turns off, the applicator is removed and the area is massaged, which may improve the final results. The session generally lasts 60Min and is repeated if necessary 1-3 times 4-6 weeks apart

What does cryolipolysis do?

The goal of cryolipolysis is to reduce the volume of fat in a fatty bulge. Some patients may opt to have more than one area treated or to retreat an area more than once.

Recovering from cryolipolysis

There are no activity restrictions. Patients sometimes feel sore, as if they had worked out. Rarely do patients experience pain. If that happens the patient should contact the plastic surgeon, who may prescribe medication for a few days.

What are the results of cryolipolysis?

The injured fat cells are gradually eliminated by the body over four to six months. During that time the fatty bulge decreases in size, with an average fat reduction of about 20 percent of the bulge with each session. Areas can be treated many times to reach the desired outcome.

The final result of your session may take 4-6 Months however, significant measurable results occur at 4 weeks

How Karmalite does this differently?

Your journey with us as all ways begins with a consultation and an evaluation session where we take measurements and photos, explain the procedure and what you need to do before during and after your session.

We love combination treatments at Karmalite. That’s why we often start our fat reduction journey with Alliance By LPG (Hyperlink to our page) which allows for faster results and easier access to the fat by reducing wateretention which is often associated with Fat in our body. After the cryolipo session we also use the Alliance By LPG to help eliminate the fat and decrease inflammation again, giving us better and faster results. We often can combine other things like Exilis, EmSculpt and Mesotherapy to the mix to get even better results.

Who is a good candidate for Cryolipo?

Cryolipo helps remove localized pockets of fatty tissue. It’s a treatment for fat loss, not weight loss.

As a result, a good candidate for cryolipolysis treatments is someone who wishes to reduce or remove localized pockets of fatty tissue that persist despite exercise and diet intervention.

Cryolipolysis treatments are less effective in people with high levels of fat and those with obesity.

A literature review summarized that ideal candidates for cryolipolysis treatments, should be adults in good health, with no history of neurological or skeletal problems, and with normal kidney function.
